About Charlene

Charlene Platon is a board-certified family nurse practitioner, licensed registered nurse, and passionate nurse innovator

Stanford Health Care

In 2016, Charlene joined Stanford Health Care (SHC) as a Manager of Advanced Practice with a primary role of leading process and quality improvement initiatives to optimize practice for advanced practice providers.

Currently, Charlene is Director of Ambulatory Nursing at SHC. In this role, Charlene focuses on providing leadership for advancing, developing, refining, and innovating ambulatory nursing clinical delivery operations throughout the Stanford enterprise. In addition to her work in ambulatory care, Charlene is actively supporting an infrastructure for nurses at SHC to bring their innovative ideas to the forefront of healthcare.

Johnson & Johnson

In September 2019, Charlene was selected as one of 12 inaugural Johnson & Johnson Nurse Innovation Fellows. The goal of the Johnson & Johnson Nurse Innovation Fellowship is to develop the leadership and entrepreneurial ability of nurses, ultimately promoting nurse-led innovation in healthcare across the global stage.

In the two-year program, Charlene’s primary innovation goal is to build and implement a mobile application to reduce nurse burnout and work-related stress, among other innovation projects.

 

Charlene’s overarching goal as a healthcare leader and nurse innovator is to discover new and creative solutions to improve care delivery and operations. She is passionate about utilizing innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration to address organizational challenges, transform healthcare, and empower nurses.
