In Between

The invisible wounds and fears that stand between you and yourself.

What it's about

Every person eventually enters an in-between season: the space between who you have been and who you are becoming. A career that fits worse each year. A success that arrived and didn't feel the way it was supposed to. A decision you keep circling without landing.

Most of us interpret that season as being stuck, and we look for the obstacle outside ourselves: the boss, the timing, the credential, the missing certainty. In Between makes a different argument. Standing at the gate between the old self and the emerging one are the Emotional Silent Killers: fear, validation-seeking, comparison, perfectionism, people-pleasing, self-doubt. Patterns that look responsible, get rewarded at work, and shape our decisions the way physiological silent killers shape our health: gradually, without symptoms, until the effects surface somewhere unexpected.

The book blends memoir and practice: my own story as a nurse, healthcare leader, and Filipino-American daughter of a family of nurses, alongside the framework I use with clients, with reflective questions and exercises throughout. It's for the person who is successful on paper, tired of outsourcing her own judgment, and ready to learn what has actually been standing at the gate.
